In a world gone made for gonzo, it’s comforting to know there’s someone like Mr. Skin keeping an eye out for softcore mainstream moments lesser mortals might miss. Marissa Tomei’s revealing role in Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead topped the celebrity skin expert’s list of the best cinematic exposures of 2007.

“2007 was a surprisingly strong year for big-screen nudity,” Mr. Skin said of the list. “In fact, you could say it ranks among this decade’s very breast!”

It’s not like we haven’t seen them before, but pop diva Britney Spears’ naughty bits reportedly made another public appearance at the Hustler Hollywood store on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, Calif. Maybe ex-hubby K-Fed left her bereft of undergarments during the divorce or maybe she’s allergic to panties, but store employees said Spears lost her temper when she was told she couldn’t try on a selection of sexy lingerie in the store’s fitting rooms — so she treated employees and customers alike to a public pubic fashion show instead. Let’s just hope she’s toned things up a bit since that embarrassing ”comeback” episode at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Of course, the “baby fat” may be due to an actual baby. In Touch Weekly magazine is offering photos of the text messages it exchanged with the reputed father-to-be of Spears’ alleged third ”baby bump,” music producer J.R. Rotem. Rotem reportedly texted the magazine “It’s true” and “No clue what she will do [about the pregnancy]. She is unpredictable.” (Does that qualify for the Understatement of the Year Award?) Spears continues to deny she’s pregnant.

If there was any lingering doubt that Kim Kardashian could light fires with that famous tush of hers, a December pictorial in Playboy will remove it. Sadly, Kardashian appears to have become the target of more than just butt admirers. TMZ reports Kardashian and sister Kourtney were relieved of some high-dollar “excess baggage” during an impromptu autograph session at JFK airport. Among the dearly departed valuables, according to a source, are $50,000-worth of diamond jewelry, a Cartier watch and Kardashian’s laptop and digicam (the contents of which may show up on the Internet any day now).

Cable television gets steamier every day, and we’re wondering just how long it will be before American religious extremists (again) demand the Federal Communications Commission does something about it. The good news is, until the feds lower the boom, a growing cadre of enterprising individuals is dedicated to uncovering and preserving every naughty bit for those of us who don’t subscribe to premium channels. The Girls of “Californication” is one such online shrine, and even though we don’t support extended viewing of star David Duchovny in the raw (ew!), we do support the site’s willingness to expose his co-stars.

Famed pin-up girl Jeanne Carmen’s bio, Jeanne Carmen: My Wild, Wild Life as a New York Pin Up Queen, was published last year. Written by her son Brandon James, the book shines uncommon light on what life was like for 1950s icons like Carmen (above, center, at a recent Halloween party) and rival Bettie Page. Now James has created a screenplay based on Carmen’s life; reportedly it’s in the hands of Scarlett Johansson’s and Kate Bosworth’s agents.

In her heyday, Carmen was one of the most sought-after pin-up models in the world. She posed for a variety of mainstream and “gentlemen’s sophisticate” magazines and calendars, appeared on Broadway and in Hollywood films, and was linked romantically to Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Howard Hughes and Errol Flynn.

She also was linked to some notorious mobsters, and she says they’re ultimately the reason she dropped out of sight in 1962. In a newly published interview at SX News, Carmen makes some startling revelations: She spoke to Marilyn Monroe on the night she died and adds fuel to persistent rumors that Monroe might not have taken her own life, and mobster Johnny Rosselli confessed to her he killed capo Sam Giancana.

She’ll prove that on Dec. 16 when she steps into the ring for a Rated X Pro Wrestling event at the Hardrock Seminole Casino in Hollywood, Fla. Christened The Brash Bostonian Babe, Faith appear with “Mouthpiece Barbie” Summer Haze in a show that also will include a grudge match between Evan Stone and Craig Valentine.

Faith — who owns her own production company and has appeared in more than 200 XXX films and a number of other adult and mainstream productions — also has been tapped to star in New Porn Order’s upcoming feature, Rated XPW.

Marcus Patrick recently was canned from the daytime drama “Days of Our Lives,” and rumor has it the star was axed after appearing nude in the September issue of Playgirl magazine. Although the soap’s producers said the decision was made long before the revealing pics hit the newsstand, insiders dispute the claim.

Ironically, other rumors indicate High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens got a raise when images of her in the nude began circulating on the Web. Go figure.
